Background

Ruzanna Avetisyan, M.A. MFT has extensive training and experience working with children and families. She is a firm believer that one can and has the power to continuously improve all aspects of their lives simultaneously. The main ingredient is the mind and body connection while being aware and consistent with how we apply our thoughts, feelings and behaviors to our relationships.

Ruzanna practices what she preaches by living an active life physically. She works out 5-6 days a week and is also a Yoga Sculpt Instructor.  In addition, Ruzanna conducts trainings for the community on various topics related to her expertise.

Ruzanna earned her Master of Arts degree with Honors in Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University in California.

 

Method and Approach

Ruzanna has a healing style that is distinct in that it focuses on individual’s strengths rather than weaknesses, avoiding labeling altogether. She uses various techniques and applies multiple concepts/theories from Gestalt and Psychodynamic to more Cognitive Behavioral and Narrative to achieve progress that is unique to each individual based on his or her upbringing, culture, temperament, and belief system.
